DRESS CODE: Top 5 things that you should NOT to wear to your child’s school

(www.TheSingleMomClub.com) – Can you believe that we’re actually having this conversation about instituting a dress code for parents at school? But the truth is, for some moms, being a “MILF” is more important than being a mom. In fact, during a recent episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” when new mom Kim was called a MILF by sister Khloe, the gushing mom nearly cried. “That’s the nicest thing that you’ve ever said to me,” Kim said

Nearly every week, we’re reading articles about a horny parent, teacher or adult having sex or inappropriate relations with a child at school. With so much conversation about sex in today’s schools from transgender and gay rights to sexting and Snapchatting, parents have to be ever concerned about how their own children are interpreting the sexual environment around them.

As a mom in today’s world, you should feel confident that you can have it all, including a great look that is respectful of your children’s lives.

When you’re trying to figure out what to wear to a school function or piano rehearsal or how to dress for a parent-teacher conference or fundraising event for your child’s school, you’ll want to lean toward the classier version of your everyday – or even “night on the town”- look. It’s best to err on the side of being too demure rather than too sexy, but there’s absolutely no reason why you should attempt to bury your own style personality in clothes that are frumpy or just not you.

Broward County School Board member Dr. Rosalind Osgood brought up the idea during a meeting after noticing parents dropping their kids off at Boyd Anderson High School while wearing saggy pants that exposes their underwear and curlers in their hair.

“We have dads showing up in sagging pants,” Osgood said, according to the Sun Sentinel newspaper. “It’s hard for me to tell a child not to show up for school with hair curlers, pajamas or short shorts if they see parents wearing them. Parents need to lead by example.”

Here is TheSingleMomClub.com’s TOP 5 list of WHAT NOT to WEAR to YOUR CHILD’S SCHOOL

1) To avoid looking like the mom who tried to hard and wants to steal attention away from the kids, try to keep things simple by wearing a cute top and a long cardigan with nice jeans, some heels or embellished flats and light jewelry, says fashion blogger Laura Milligan.

“Stay away from pieces that are too trendy or fussy because I think they draw the wrong kind of attention in a school setting,” Martin cautions. “You want to be known for your child and your volunteer efforts to help the school community, not for wearing the big furry vest on Curriculum Night.”

2) No curlers, rollers, do-rags or plastic shower caps can be worn to school.

3) Use caution when showing cleavage. There is no reason you have to go to school wearing a tipee, but there’s also no reason to show up in pajamas, house shoes, your robe or the like.

4) Try to remember that this is your child’s lives too. If you had a parent who embarrassed you at school, try to remember how difficult that was. In today’s times, bullying is leading to death so try not to create situations that will cause your child stress.

5) Even if you’re just taking your child to the bus stop, GET DRESSED. This shows your child that you value yourself, that you value your family’s image and that you respect them. It also means that you can make a quick dip at your favorite shopping center immediately after they get on the bus if you’re a stay at home parent.
